Let's Roll MPS - Northside | May 8, 2024

The Let's Roll MPS is a free, slow-paced group bicycle ride that celebrates bicycle efforts in our school district, the beauty of Minneapolis, and the joy in our connections to each other. Since 2016, we have celebrated National Bike to School Day and MPS Wellness Week with a slow-paced, group bicycle ride through the City with super star MPS school bike groups. The Stone Arch Bridge is scheduled to be closed beginning in April 2024, so expect a new route this year. In the meantime, mark your calendars for the afternoon of May 8, and stay tuned for details.

Know Before You Roll

Bring your own bicycle. Wear a helmet, pump your tires, check your brakes, and remember bicyclists have the same rights and responsibilities as car drivers. All participants will sign a waiver. Students must be accompanied by a caregiver/guardian or by staff who has signed permission slips for the group.

Thank you to all who attended the Let's Roll MPS on October 11, 2023.

Thank you EVERYONE for making the Let’s Roll MPS a huge success. More than 200 students, staff, families, and community members took to the streets – to celebrate bicycle efforts in our district, the beauty of Minneapolis and the JOY in our connections to one another. Joy was everywhere you turned at this event.

An enormous thank you
  • to our event partners at Sullivan STEAM School, Anishinabe Academy, and Twin Cities Adaptive Cycling Program and event support from the Life Time Foundation;
  • to all the volunteers who made it safe and fun for all, including amazing students from the Girls Swim Team at Roosevelt High School and South High School and students from Washburn High School;
  • to all the awesome families, community members and staff who joined the event;
  • and to the schools who were the stars of the event - Sullivan STEAM School, Anishinabe Academy, Bancroft, Emerson, Lyndale, Pillsbury, Seward, Transition Plus, Whittier and more!
And it isn’t a true party without True Food – so we shared a fantastic meal at the end of the ride – with the very same recipes and quality ingredients we serve in our schools.
