Junior Iron Chef:


Join us as sixteen middle and high schools students team up with local chefs and NFL players for this Super Bowl edition, top-chef style cooking competition! The winning team's recipe will be served out of MPS' food truck during Super Bowl Week!

MPS Culinary & Wellness Services is now accepting student applications to compete in this special event!
Who should apply? 
  • Any 6th-12th grade student currently enrolled in a Minneapolis Public School. 
  • Students who are interested in good food and cooking!
  • No cooking required! Applicants with varying levels of cooking experience will be considered.
How to apply?
  • Students can apply online.
  • Applications are due Friday, September 22nd. 
  • Application includes a brief essay (1000 character maximum) about why the student wants to participate in the competition. We encourage students to be creative with their responses!

MPS is excited to host this event in partnership with the Super Bowl Legacy Fund, Cargill, and our True Food Chef Council. In the spirit of MPS Culinary & Wellness Services' and the Super Bowl Legacy Fund's shared commitment to promoting healthy eating and active living, this event encourage students to find fun in cooking, promote fresh and healthy food, and provide a unique opportunity for students to be mentored by some of our community's best chefs and professional athletes.
