The 3rd annual JUNIOR IRON CHEF COMPETITION!
On May 8th, four chefs from the True Food Chef Council and eight MPS middle school students will team up to compete “top-chef” style for a panel of judges, including district administrators, local politicians, and food critics! This annual event kicks off MPS' fourth annual WELLNESS WEEK, a district-wide celebration of healthy eating and active living. The Jr Iron Chef Competition is a FREE community event hosted to raise awareness for MPS' commitment to healthy, fresh, scratch-cooked food.
When: May 8th, 5:30-7:30pm
Where: Solar Arts by Chowgirls (711 NE 15th Ave, Minneapolis)
Cost: FREE to the public!
Calling all middle schoolers!
We invite all MPS middle school (6th-8th grade) students to apply to participate in this year's Jr Iron Chef Competition. Application details and instructions can be found here
. Note: No previous cooking experience is required! Applications (including 1000 word essay), submitted online at bit.ly/JIC2017application, are due by 4pm on Wednesday, April 12th.
