Junior Iron Chef Competition

Minneapolis Public Schools Culinary & Nutrition Services and the True Food Chef Council present...
On May 8th, four chefs from the True Food Chef Council and eight MPS middle school students will team up to compete “top-chef” style for a panel of judges, including district administrators, local politicians, and food critics! This annual event kicks off MPS' fourth annual WELLNESS WEEK, a district-wide celebration of healthy eating and active living. The Jr Iron Chef Competition is a FREE community event hosted to raise awareness for MPS' commitment to healthy, fresh, scratch-cooked food. 
When: May 8th, 5:30-7:30pm
Where: Solar Arts by Chowgirls (711 NE 15th Ave, Minneapolis)
Cost: FREE to the public!

Calling all middle schoolers! We invite all MPS middle school (6th-8th grade) students to apply to participate in this year's Jr Iron Chef Competition. Application details and instructions can be found here. Note: No previous cooking experience is required! Applications (including 1000 word essay), submitted online at, are due by 4pm on Friday, April 14th

This event is a partnership between Minneapolis Public Schools and the True Food Chef Council, a group of Minneapolis culinary professionals who support and promote our commitment to scratch-cooking, food integrity, local food, and healthy eating.
